Brad Tapper (born April 28, 1978 38 years young) joined the Rochester Americans as an Assistant Coach on June 6, 2016. Brad is married to his wife, Alison, and they have three children, Hudson, Blake and Addison.
Before joining the Amerks Brad spent the previous 2 years as the assistant coach of the Chicago Wolves from 2014 through 2016. He was also the assistant coach with both the Orlando Solar Bears and Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
In 2012, Tapper had success with the Florida Everblades coaching them to the Kelly Cup Championship.
Brad enjoyed a nine-year professional playing career as a right winger. He appeared in 71 career NHL games recording 25 points and 72 penalty minutes. In his AHL career he registered 83 points in 132 games. During his rookie season with the Orlando in 2000 he won a Turner Cup Championship and was part of Chicago’s Calder Cup winning team in 2002.
Tapper spent his final three professional seasons playing in Germany. He also played three seasons of college hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) outside of Albany, NY before beginning his professional career.
He is a native of Scarborough, Ontario, about 40 minutes north east of Toronto, where Brad and Alison are raising their family. He makes it home to them as often as he can. He Face time daily with the family to wish them good night.
